Important Update for Fall 2025 BSW Applicants

Applications for the Fall 2025 BSW cohort are now being accepted! The deadline for applications is April 1st. The BSW Admissions committee will review applications submitted by that date and notifications will be made as to application status by the 2nd week of April at the latest. After April 1st, the BSW Admissions committee will review applications on a rolling basis with students being notified of their application status in a timely manner.

Before completing this form, you must first apply for admission to St. Ambrose University at www.sau.edu/apply. This form is only for admission to the SAU Bachelor of Social Work program.

Personal Statement – Address the following components in no more than 1000 words. You must complete the required prompt and then choose one of the following two prompts in order for your application to be considered complete.

REQUIRED PROMPT:
Describe why you are choosing social work as your chosen career path. Reflect on your own experiences and discuss your reasons for choosing social work. This could include a volunteer or service-learning experience that you have had and how it impacted you.

CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PROMPTS:

Describe what social justice means to you. Reflect on your own experiences and discuss the ways you think about social justice.
How do your strengths, areas for growth, and limitations align with the NASW Code of Ethics, particularly regarding the ethical principles of social justice, respect for individual dignity, and promoting clients' self-determination?
